“Who wants to be a millionaire?”: Stranger candidate not only irritates Günther Jauch

“Yes, I’m also worried about ARD”

His companion: Prince Damien! Jauch looks whether the celebrities are just as puzzled as the viewer. While Twitter continues to oracle: “What’s wrong with him?”, The “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” fan reveals the reason for his nervousness: “It was so blatantly stressful for me to sit on this chair and not get to it”. It doesn’t get any looser as time goes on – on the contrary! Soon an employee brings him a whole carafe of water instead of a new glass.

Jauch tries to relax the situation and chats a little bit about his youth. Back then, when he was out and about in Munich and was turned away by bouncers in front of a club, “because my nose or my weird corduroy trousers or my shirt or anything else didn’t fit.”

But Profant’s “nervous tension” is probably also due to the fact that he’s been trying to take part in the show for years and now that he’s finally done it, he definitely didn’t want to go home without sitting on the famous chair to have. After all, the comedian tells a “huge story” that neither Jauch nor the audience particularly enjoy. He reports that he once unsuccessfully took part in a trash TV casting “at a station with three capital letters”. The moderator jokes: “Yes, I’m also worried about ARD.”

“A really cool guy”

At the end of the program, the friendly Munich man is about to answer the 16.- Euro question, which reads: “The CDU has its headquarters in the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus, the SPD in the Willy-Brandt-Haus and the FDP in …?” It is of course “A) the Hans-Dietrich-Genscher-Haus”, which he also logs in because he is “a really cool guy”.

Now the tension drops finally off him. But then the signal that ends the broadcast sounds. Maybe we’ll find out in two weeks whether Alexander Profant’s behavior is really only due to his nervousness and what exactly his prominent support is all about.

He has two jokers still in the bag. We have learned from the past that those who initially seemed strange, even whimsical, ended up winning the most. Next week, however, the moderator will first welcome candidates who dare to gamble for three million euros.
